Its location, surrounded by forests and mountains, made it hard to reach, which helped keep its natural beauty intact. The valley has been part of the larger Kashmir region, ruled by different dynasties over time. It was an important trade route, but its tough terrain kept it isolated. In recent years, the valley has become known for its rich wildlife and growing tourism, while still holding onto its traditional way of life and connection to nature.
